Remember that time when 3G was a big thing, it was a major upgrade from 2G and people thought that is the fastest internet they could get on a smartphone and then came 4G and everyone started rushing towards the carrier which provided 4G connectivity The first company to provide 4G in India was Airtel , Airtel got the first move advantage and attracted a lot of customers. It’s half past 2018 and less than 5 months are left for us to enter in 2019. New year demands something new, so mobile companies in India are planning to give you something new, 5G is going to be here in 2019.

Japan based company Lenovo has not been able to do much in the smartphone market for a long time but recently the vice president of the company, Chang Cheng has made a statement on Weibo that Lenovo will be the first company to launch a smartphone with 5G compatibility. He also said that the device will be powered by the upcoming flagship chipset Snapdragon 855, on which Qualcomm has been working on for quiet some time now and the chip’s production had already started in June 2018.

With mass productions of Snapdragon 855 Soc, we can expect to see a device powered by this processor by the end of 2018 or in early 2019.

Cheng has not declared any specific time when the phone is to be launched but you can take an idea from the availability of Snapdragon 855 Soc that the smartphone might be available by the end of 2018 or early 2019.

However, Don’t rely on the claims made by Cheng because he is known to exaggerate things like with the Lenovo z5 that was launched a couple of months back in China, he said that this would be a full screen phone with no notch and 4TB of storage etc etc but when the phone actually came out, it had a notch and not anywhere was it’s storage close to 4TB.

Other companies are also working close with Qualcomm to make 5G compatible phones available to you as soon as possible, the name of these companies include Oppo, One plus, Vivo,Huawei and Samsung.
