The Government declared that it will disclose the Rs 75 coin on the event of 75th commemoration of lifting the Tricolor by Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose at Port Blair. A notice regarding the same has been issued by the Ministry of Finance.

 

“The coin of seventy-five rupees will just be instituted at the Mint for issue under the expertise of the central government on the event of ’75th Anniversary of Hoisting of Tricolor’ of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose at Port Blair,” said the notice.

 

The 35 gram coin will be made out of 50 percent silver, 40 percent copper, and 5 percent of nickel and zinc. This coin will bear the representation of ‘Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose’ saluting the flag with a background of cellular jail.

 

A numeral 75th alongside engraving ‘commemoration’ will be delineated beneath the picture. There will be engraving in both Devanagari content and English saying ‘First Flag Hoisting Day’.

 

On December 30, 1943, Bose had lifted the Tricolor for the first time at Cellular Jail, Port Blair. On October 21, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had lifted the National Flag at Red Fort and disclosed the sign to remember the 75th Anniversary of development of Azad Hind Government, framed by Bose.
