From now on, you don’t have to worry about losing your identity proof especially when you travel by train. Indian Railways has recently announced that they are going to accept the digital copied of driving license and Aadhaar. The only condition is those have to be in your DigiLocker. A DigiLocker is a service operated by the Government that lets the citizen of India safely store some of their official documents on cloud.
The Railways has sent an official statement to all the zonal chiefs business administrators that these two identity proofs on such administration will be acknowledged as substantial confirmation of the identity of a traveller.
As per the order, if a person confirms his/her identity, whether it’s a driving license or Aadhaar by logging in to their DigiLocker account, then the proofs will be counted as valid and will be accepted to identity the passenger travelling.
According to the Narendra Modi government’s Digital India movement, the DigiLocker can store digital copies of Aadhaar and driving licence.
This particular service has also collaborated with CBSE which will help students to check their digital versions of marksheets. Not just this, subscribers can also feed in their PAN which is Permanent Account number to their DigiLocker as well.
This service will definitely help people not worry about taking out their Identity proofs out of their pocket.
