There are so many famous temples of shiva which is visited by lots of people every year. Lets discuss the famous temples of shiva you can plan this year if you are a strict follower of lord shiva.

1. Amarnath, Kashmir- Amarnath is one of the famous temples of shiva which is extremely difficult to cover and one of the most visited temples of shiva devotees. It is basically situated in a cave in jammu and Kashmir at a height of 3888m . This amaranth yatra is most popular among the shiv devotees as at this place the ice linga of lord shiva naturally formed each year. This yatra will start from 27 June and will end at 3 August every year.

2. Kedarnath uttrakhand- Shri Kedarnath Temple, the eleventh of India’s twelve jyotirlinga, is dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is located at an elevation of 3580 metres, not far from the Chorabari Glacier, the Mandakini River’s source. This temple is a destination on the Char Dham pilgrimage route and is devoted to Lord Shiva. It is constructed of large, evenly formed grey stone slabs and has an antiquated architectural style.

3. Kashi Vishwanath temple Uttar Pradesh – It is one of Varanasi’s most famous temples and is devoted to Lord Shiva. It was constructed in 1780 by Maratha Maharani Ahilyabai Holkar. It is highly regarded for being one of the most important Hindu temples. The god Visveshvra, also known as Vishvanath, is represented by his jyotrilinga within this structure.

4. Somnath Temple Gujrat- Sagar Kant of Saurashtra in the state of Gujarat is known for the Somnath Temple. It is one of Lord Shiva’s 12 holiest jyotrilingas, and the Rigveda makes reference to it. The months of October through March are ideal for visiting the somnath temple.

5. Lingraj temple in Orrisa- The largest temple in Bhuvneshwar is the Lingaraj temple. It is one of India’s most exquisite pouely hindu temple examples. This temple is open for darshan from 6:00 AM to 12:30 PM and once more from 3:30 PM to 9:00 PM. All worshippers are eligible for free darshan. 6. Mahakaleshwar, Madhya Pradesh- Of all the Shiva temples in India, Mahakaleshwar Temple is pretty well-known. It is situated in Ujjain on the banks of the captivating Shipra River and features a unique south-facing linga that is only found in Mahakal. For devotees and others who like visiting temples, this temple’s sky-high shikhar or spire and sparkling façade make it an amazing site to admire and explore.

7. Kotilingeshwara Temple , Karnataka- One of the greatest shiv linga collections in the country, it is a well-known Shiva temple in India and is situated in the Karnataka district of Kolar. It is also a magnificent temple that is widely recognized among other temples. Inside the boundaries of the temple are an 11-meter-tall Nandi and a 33-meter-tall linga.
