Skipping breakfast? Here’s why you shouldn’t!

People are often caught up with so many things to do in the morning that they compromise the most important meal of the day and that is the breakfast. But if you have been skipping breakfast on a regular basis, then here are the top 4 reasons why you shouldn’t. Let’s get to know them better.

  1. It keeps your body nourished

We sleep for around 6 to 8 hours during the night and our body goes into a fasting mode during that time because we don’t take any nutrients. When you eat your breakfast it acts like breaking the fast and hence the name “breakfast”. It gives you important minerals, vitamins, and is extremely important for your body to function properly throughout the day. Normally, our body needs something within 6 hours and even we start feeling hungry, this shows how important it is to break your fast in the morning.

  1. It improves your appetite

Most of us who want to start a diet, skips breakfast thinking the lesser we eat the faster we will lose weight. Whereas this is definitely not the case. If you start skipping your breakfast your body might scream for more food later, it will make you hungrier by the time you eat your lunch and this may make you eat more during the lunch and even after that. Once our hunger starts causing trouble it makes us eat all the unnecessary food that we should usually avoid. Moreover, skipping your breakfast can cause inflammation as per American Journal of Clinical Nutrition study in Time. So, which one is wiser, eating a healthy breakfast in the morning and function normally or skipping it and then feeling like eating everything throughout the day?

  1. It affects your mood

When you don’t take your breakfast it really messes up our brain. It makes us lose our concentration, we keep getting distracted and also it makes us weak because of hunger. Imagine going through all of this while you are at work. You and your work will suffer. Your body needs energy to stay active throughout and breakfast is that fuel which provides adequate amount of energy to survive the entire day. Another good reason why you should never skip your breakfast.

  1. The long-term effects on your body

Skipping your breakfast regularly can have long-term effects on your body. We often don’t think much while adopting a bad habit, but what we fail to understand is that these small steps can have deadly effects on our body. Taking breakfast regularly keeps your blood pressure under control and also helps in reducing blood sugar.

If you want to stay healthy and fit have a regular breakfast. Your body and soul needs it. If by adopting a good habit, so many good things can happen, then why not? Take care of your body because we all know you have to survive the entire day and be productive. Don’t skip your breakfast. Stay fit and live a good life.
